Hanger and mirror
Emajõe 2014
The design of this mirror was inspired by the stylish panelling of an old door. Thence come the proportions, the rounded corners and the construction of the frame in two parts and on two levels. As there was a lot of wood in the interior, wire brushed larch was used for half of the mirror frame and
the other half was forged of iron and waxed. The hanger behind the wall is
protruding in the corner of the vestibule, thus, it couldn’t be placed directly
in the corner due to a vertical wooden beam. A fancy arch had to be forged into
the shaped iron to keep the outerwear– sometimes damp– away from the airless
corner.
